The EGM held on 11/7/2001 elected a new Board of six trustees. The AGM on 15/5/2002 added two further trustees to increase the range of skills available, one elected to serve as treasurer and one co-opted, bringing the Board to eight.

The Constitution specifies a maximum of 11 trustees, 7 elected and 4 co-opted.

The 2002 EGM agreed to the Board of Trustees applying to the Charity Commission for Registered Charity status and to raise funds so that the H registration minibus could be replaced with a purpose built larger model with improved facilities for the disabled. To assist in these objectives, a Business Action Plan (2002 –2004) was agreed in 2002. Following discussions at the September 2004 meeting of the Board of Trustees, the “BAP” was updated and targets agreed for the period 2004 – 20011.

Trustees carry out all administration tasks and are reimbursed expenses as permitted by the Charity Commissioners. Trustees act as chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, bus boss, booking clerk and driver liaison, these and the team of drivers are all unpaid volunteers.

Individual trustees have attended a wide range of training courses, specially provided for voluntary transport groups by North Somerset Council, Community Action, and Avon & Bristol Law Centre. These have provided valuable information about methods and sources of fund raising, the range of transport on the market, the role of trustees, trustees and the law, how to run effective meetings, and provided valuable contacts with other community transport groups.

Currently there is a team of 14 volunteer drivers. Three have received MIDAS training to “driver trainer” level. MIDAS training is provided for all other drivers by a cascade system. Fees will be charged whenever CCT “driver trainers” provide MIDAS training for drivers of other organisations.

The new 17seater minibus was delivered in December 2003. Its specifications fully met the design agreed by the Board of Trustees and requirements as outlined in the Business Action Plan (2002 – 2004) “Needs Identification” section.

The new minibus (Bluey II) is fully maintained, at minimum cost by Mercedes Benz of W.s.M. and is kept, when not in use, in a secure pound provided by Holder’s of Congresbury
